Become a student volunteer

With the oversight of our eleven staff attorneys, student interns/volunteers assist the staff and volunteer attorneys and their clients appearing in the Circuit Court of Cook County and before various administrative agencies.

CVLS is a general legal practice.  We allow, therefore, our attorneys and interns to see many different types of cases - from bankruptcy to personal injury defense to family law.  There are other responsibilities including research projects, client interviewing and some general clerking duties.

Because you must be supervised by a staff attorney, intern/volunteer times must be during regular business hours, Monday thru Friday.  For Student volunteers, we do not require a set amount of hours, but do hope that a student will be able to commit to a minimum of 12 hours per week over 2-3 days.  Intern/Extern hours would be based on the internship/externship requirements.
