Description

CVLS is hosting a panel with judges and practitioners from the Cook County Probate and County Divisions for Guardians ad litem for Disabled Adults and other interested attorneys who want to learn more about the new Calendar 20 Mental Health and Probate courtroom.

Cal 20, with a central case management system and a single court call of judges from the Probate and Mental Health courts, offers a holistic approach for cases that involve respondents with guardianship and mental health legal issues. This program, the first of two panels, will provide an overview of the new call, with information about the types of cases it hears and how they get there, the role of the GAL, including expectations, limitations and the extent of the GAL’s authority.
