Chicago Volunteer Legal Services (CVLS) is seeking compassionate pro bono attorneys to assist survivors of notario fraud and extortion—over 40 individuals and families who trusted the wrong person and are now fighting for safety and stability in the U.S. with their U Visa immigration process. No immigration experience required, only a willingness to learn.
You’ll receive full mentorship, templates, and guidance at every step. It's a great opportunity to learn about a new case type. Cases take about 10 to 15 hours and will be assigned starting in January 2026 and must be completed by the end of March 2026. After you're finished with your part in March, CVLS will handle full representation (signing off on all G-28s) due to the length of these matters. Your help could be the turning point in a family’s future. If you or your firm are interested in possibly taking on a U Visa case, please click here.
