Nonprofits in Illinois and across the country are facing new federal scrutiny of their diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs, along with growing threats to their funding and increased government pressure. These actions place essential community work at risk — from feeding and housing families to supporting students, protecting civil rights, and strengthening our democracy.
To help organizations navigate this climate, the Nonprofit Resilience Hub has launched the Nonprofit Legal Support Project (NLSP), a collaborative initiative that expands access to legal, financial, and consulting support for nonprofits under federal review.
NLSP is powered by a coalition of partners, including the Chicago Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights, Forefront, the Chicago Bar Foundation, Lawyers for Good Government, Lawyers for the Creative Arts, and others. Together, they serve as a central resource working to safeguard Illinois nonprofits and ensure we can continue our vital missions.
