Illinois Probate Lawyer Plays Vital Role in German Social Security Claim!

Since 1997, German government Social Security pensions have been available to survivors of the work camps during the Holocaust. The law making those benefits available (known by its German acronym of “ZRBG”) has expanded since its inception to allow heirs of those survivors to apply for these benefits.

William approached the CVLS clinic with the Jewish United Fund (JUF) with an interesting and unique legal issue. His parents, both Holocaust survivors, received ZRBG pension benefits but died a long time ago. Unfortunately, William’s mom died without a will, so William needed to establish his heirship to access the funds.

Julie E. Fox of Fox Law Offices LLC, an experienced probate lawyer, agreed to take on William’s case pro bono. She assisted William by helping him to become legally declared as his mother’s heir in Illinois so that he could pursue his claim in Germany. William is now able to access the benefits to which he is legally entitled.
