Sima Blue, who has led the JUF Evelyn R. Greene Legal Services Clinic for over 40 years, is retiring on July 1 after a remarkable tenure. Though not a lawyer herself, she has been the clinic’s guiding force—greeting clients in crisis, matching them with pro‑bono attorneys, mentoring staff, and overseeing day‑to‑day operations with warmth and compassion. Her steady leadership was pivotal when the clinic transitioned under JUF leadership in 2009 and in sustaining its mission of legal advocacy for those in need.

Acknowledged by volunteers and organizers as “the glue, backbone, heart, and soul” of the program, Sima has inspired both attorneys and clients, leaving an enduring legacy of dignity and justice that spans generations juf.org. In recognition of this extraordinary service, Chicago Volunteer Legal Services recently honored Sima with its prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at their June 18 Law & Disorder event—a fitting tribute to her decades of selfless leadership.
