Dynamic Duo at Beermann LLP Finalizes Divorce!

Maribel’s marriage to her husband lasted three years before their relationship fell apart. The couple separated in 2019, but Maribel had her hands full raising their three children by herself. When she finally filed for divorce in 2023, the process was so overwhelming that she couldn’t make any progress. She needed an attorney but was unable to afford one.

That’s where CVLS’s new clinic with Beermann LLP came in. Maribel’s case was assigned to Beermann Associate, Nicole Edidin, and Rule 711 Law Student, Taylor Cohn. Nicole and Taylor worked together to finalize Maribel’s case.

Maribel had already filed her Petition for Dissolution of Marriage. Nicole and Taylor helped Maribel personally serve her husband and moved to default him when he failed to respond to the lawsuit.

In April 2024, Maribel was successfully divorced. In addition to the divorce, Maribel was granted sole decision-making and majority parenting time of the parties’ three minor children. Thanks to Nicole and Taylor, Maribel can move on to the next chapter of her life.
