Description

In this moderated panel discussion, a small group of professionals from the worlds of family law and mental health services (including court-ordered therapies) will discuss the process of becoming a Child Representative/Guardian Ad Litem. Topics will include questions such as:

  • What do you wish you had known about interviewing children when you first began working as a GAL?
  • What do you wish other/more GALs knew about communicating with children involved in high-conflict family law cases?
  • How to get information that you can trust as accurate from children when working as a GAL?

The three panelists, all of whom work professionally as either therapists to children and families or as court-appointed Guardians/Representatives will discuss their experiences and these question topics, with guidance from a moderator who is a family law attorney.
