The exploitation of children for commercial sex, labor, and/or services is unfortunately, not a new phenomenon. Under federal and state anti-human trafficking laws, however, new protections and resources exist for child trafficking survivors. This workshop will provide attorneys foundational knowledge of anti-trafficking legislation and policy, how to identify child trafficking, and an overview of current research, resources, and promising practices. The workshop will address both sex and labor trafficking, and benefits and resources available to both US citizens and non-US citizen children and take a look specifically at the issues of human trafficking and Native American Children.
