A little friendly competition never hurt anyone!

By participating as a team, your firm/organization is eligable to participate in not only the individual running competition, but the team running (male, female and coed), largest team and team t-shirt contests as well.

Team Registration


Forming a team is easy. First your team must choose a captain. Second, your captain must create your team using the online team registration form. Team captains will be prompted to create an online account with signmeup.com. This account is required and allows team captains to log in at www.signmeup.com and view who has joined their team.

Now that your team has been formed in our database you can start having your runners sign up using our online registration form. Please remind your team members to indicate that they are joining a team on the first page of the registration form. On the second page of the registration form all members of your team must select your team name from the appropriate drop down box. Note: You must have completed the team registration form before your team name appears in the drop down box. To register multiple runners at the same time click "Register Another" on the checkout page of the form.

Some teams choose to register by mail in order to pay all the entry fees by check. If you wish to register your team by mail please fill out an entry form for each team member. Teams that are registering together by mail will be entered under the same team name regardless of variations on the entry forms. Team captains please indicate on your entry form that you are the team captain. Please indicate with a short one sentence letter that you would like to pay all entry fees using the credit card information or check supplied.

Largest Team Award


Every year the team with the most runners/walkers is presented with the prestigious largest team traveling trophy. Team size is calculated after race day in order to include participants who registered the day of the race. In order to assist CVLS in tallying total team sizes we ask that the team captains remind their members to register using the same team name. Differences in abreviation, spelling and name length can make it difficult to tally accuratly.

In order to include as much of the legal community as possible in the festivities this year volunteers will be counted towards total team size!

Team Scoring


Awards will be given to the fastest three teams in the male, female and co-ed categories in each of three divisions:

Division I: Legal Organization 251+ Employees
Division II: Legal Organization 1-250 Employees
Division III: All Non-Legal Organizations

Teams consist of four runners, each runner completing the entire 5K, and are scored in one of three categories: Male, Female and Co-ed. (Co-ed teams are two women and two men.) Each firm or company can submit multiple Team entries, each consisting of four runners, but is eligible to win only one prize in each category. The team must get scorecards from the registration tent, fill in the names and times of each runner and submit it no later than 7:30 p.m. Team scoring is based on the honor system.

T-Shirt Contest


Design a team Race Judicata® 2010 t-shirt and enter our contest to earn an engraved spot on our traveling trophy. The contest rules are:

  1. Feel free to make your designs as creative as possible, but all entries MUST contain the words "Race Judicata®" and the year 2010 (10 or '10 are acceptable).
  2. We must receive the t-shirt by 5 p.m. on July 21st with completed entry form. The t-shirt will not be returned. T-shirts will be displayed at the race site before and after judging.
  3. Awards will be presented during the race awards ceremony.
  4. Judges will evaluate the designs for creativity, the overall attractiveness of the shirt, incorporation of the words "Race Judicata®" and the year 2010.
  5. Awards will be given to the top three designs based on the criteria described above. A maximum of two designers per shirt will be allowed to receive the team's award. If your team uses multiple designers, please choose two to receive awards.
  6. The traveling trophy will be presented to the winning team about two weeks after the race. This time is needed to modify the trophy to display the winning t-shirt as well as engrave the team name. The winning designers must be available to receive the award at a date determined after the race by the designers and race director.

Team Tent Rentals


Reserve a team tent today for your company or running team and you'll have the perfect place to meet, hang out, eat, and socialize while enjoying all the race festivities.

Bypass the packet pick-up upon arrival at the race site on Thursday, July 30th, your tent will be set-up and stocked with all your race necessities-including goody bags, t-shirts and race numbers.
